생활데이터랩 is an information site that brings everyday calculations and Korean public information together in one place, always with its sources.

Everyday calculators

We provide 14 calculator tools for common Korean employment and wage calculations such as severance pay, unemployment benefits, take-home pay, weekly holiday allowance, and annual leave. Calculations run entirely in your browser; the values you enter are never sent to or stored on our servers.

Reference values that change every year, such as the minimum wage and social insurance rates, are maintained per year, and each calculator states its assumptions and limits on screen.

Public-data regional information

We show weather, sunrise and sunset times, and community facility information for every province, city, and district in Korea, based on public data. Each page displays its data source.

  • Weather: Korea Meteorological Administration short-range forecast (5 km neighborhood forecast grid), reflecting the forecast issued 8 times a day.
  • Sunrise and sunset: theoretical values computed with the NOAA solar position equations. For official values, please refer to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute.
  • Social welfare facilities: Social Security Information Service, social welfare facility information service
  • Senior-discount shops: data.go.kr national standard data on senior-discount designated shops
  • Children’s play facilities: Ministry of the Interior and Safety, national children’s play facility information service
  • Health promotion centers: data.go.kr national standard data on health promotion centers
  • Community child centers: data.go.kr national standard data on community child centers
  • Mobility support centers: data.go.kr national standard data on mobility support centers for people with limited mobility
  • Village halls and senior centers: data.go.kr national standard data on village halls and senior centers

Data updates and limits

Facility information is refreshed by periodically re-downloading the public-data source. Anything missing from the source, or corrected late at the source, is reflected here as-is, so please confirm directly with the facility or agency before visiting or using a service.

If the public data itself is wrong, the fastest fix is to ask the agency that maintains the source. If an error came from how this site displays or converts the data, please tell us through the Contact page and we will correct it after checking.

Analysis articles

We also publish analysis articles on technology, industry, and policy issues. Every article checks primary sources such as official announcements and institutional statistics first, and lists its sources at the end. Our fact-checking and correction standards are described on the Editorial Policy page.
